Officers
President, Chuck Bearce, after three previous stints as an officer with the club, jumped into the "pond" again to work toward making Clearwater Bass Club one of the best bass fishing clubs in Florida ! When Chuck first joined CBC way back in June, '90 and throwing only a "Red Shad" worm and a "Snagless Sally" (he took way too much kiddin' about that lure and doesn't fish it anymore), he didn't catch very many fish, but our 12-time "Classic Contender" and "2009-2010 Angler of the Year" has come a long way toward understanding what it takes to be a consistent fisherman ! Much more important is his appreciation of the great bunch guys that make up this club as we compete on the lakes of Central Florida !
Vice President, Matt "Iaconelli" Sparks, our youngest member, shows a tremendous amount of enthusiasm toward this "bass fishing thing" and quite well could be the future of this club as a majority of us are just about beyond our usefulness. After appearing in his first classic as an Alternate (5th Place - not bad for a "rookie"), Matt is learning this game we play. Now, wanting to be a part of how a club functions, Matt has volunteered to be our "Wing Man" in the upcoming season. We believe that Matt will be a force to be reconned with, along with a few of the other "younger" members that show a lot of promise in keeping up the traditions of this great organization. Welcome aboard, Matt !
Secretary / Treasurer, John Fugate, another of our "Young Turks" (translation: young up-and-coming quality fisherman) is showing all the signs of being a quality fisherman and a definite asset to our organization with his steady style. John has stepped up to take the reins as club "Scribe/Bean Counter" for the 20010/2011 season. We predict that John will be a steady force, both in his fishing abilities and his administrative style as he learns the "ins and outs" of running Clearwater Bass Club from a financial standpoint. We are pleased to have John with us as he is another in the "youth movement" that bodes well for our club. We are definitely in "good hands" !
Co-Tournament Directors, Bill Poirier and Norm Whitten, have agreed to share responsibilities this next season, taking on the toughest job we have in Clearwater Bass Club. As a longtime member, Bill brings years of experience to the job and there is no doubt in our minds that he will mentor Norm in the art of "callin' 'em as they sees' 'em" (sometimes ya gotta be firm at weighin) ! So, strap on the "shin-guards" and "make the call" ! |
