2011 - Monthly Tournament - 2012 LAKE TARPON @ "Nite" AUGUST 19, 2011 |

Everyone got on the lake pretty much on time. Traffic and truck repairs slowed a couple of anglers down but the weather, thankfully, had cleared. I brought all my gear on the motorcycle so I’m sure there is a posting of the "weird guy" going down US 19 with rods sticking out of the saddle bags ! Listening to reports at weigh-in it appears most fish were taken by nightfall or very soon after. I know Chuck Bearce and I had a couple of hits after dark but they were not the norm. Results were as follows: |
he annual night tournament at Lake Tarpon had it all: threat of thunderstorms, heat, humidity, skeeters, and wind. All the things that help make this tournament a love / hate relationship !|

3rd Place went to Bill Coker with two fish at 3.59 pounds. |
2nd Place was Chuck Bearce with a 5 fish limit of 6.08 pounds. |

1st Place was captured by Norm Whitten. He, too, had a 5 fish limit of 6.81 pounds. |

Big Fish was landed by "guest" Malcolm Acree, Jr. His winning fish went 3.34 pounds. Another guest, Ken Stagner brought in a five fish limit (5.15 lbs). Congratulations ! Overall results were 8 fishermen, landing 34 fish, with total weight of 45.12 pounds. We had three limits and only two dead fish were brought to the scales. My pitiful fish was .72 pounds. But, it measured and weighed so I’ll take it ! |
