"Back Seat Blues"
~ December 2010 ~

     Well, here we go again...Sorry for the delay ! Our December tournament is always on Lake Tarpon as Christmas is very near.

     I was teamed up with Mr. Prez. (Darrell), and I was sure it would be a "fun" day. As we sat, waiting for blast-off, I asked Darrell if he had any good spots and he said he had a couple that he wanted to try.

     Then he asked, "Where do you want to go ? " I said it really didn’t matter, but I would start in the northeast area. So off we went to the N.E. Looked like a good choice because right away we both caught a keeper there.

     Things slowed down so I mentioned another close-by spot. We pulled in there and right away, the bite started. Darrel captured a nice two-pounder, giving him 3 1/2 pounds and a nice 17 point day. He dilly-dallied around for an hour or so, and I got tired of waiting for him, so I made quick work to get two more in the boat.

     After waiting again for a looong time for him, I had to get to work. I hooked one shortly after. Now I had 4 fairly small fish, and he decides, that’s it, and moves the boat so I can’t get anymore. I threw out the back, and caught one, to give me a limit. Ole guys always find a way !

     We had more fun than you could imagine. Reminds me of the old "Charlie + Harry days." It was a pleasure to spend the day with Darrell. He is a true gentleman and a great asset to the club. I look forward to our next day on the water.
